Interested in answering societal relevant questions, Yvonne wanted to move on this topic with the knowledge she had gained previously about commitment, mainly about the psychological literature. Being rather new to the topic of refugees, she thought about this particular CoP with specific aim to build a network into research of refugees and sustainable work, as well as to get a grip on the status of the field.

Holding a Bachelor in Historical Studies at Radboud University and being a PhD candidate and Junior Lecturer in Strategic Human Research Management, Annabel had the desire to research refugees after watching a documentary at college about the Morroco-Spain Border, where people would try to climb up the wide fence even though they all knew they would get hurt. Through the CoP, she also wanted  to understand more concerning the field of commitment and refugees.

Shabnam Shanurkey

Shabnam has got a Bsc in Business Administration and a MSc in International Business, both at Radboud University. Born originally in Afghanistan, she was only 40 days old when she started living in The Netherlands. Because of that, during the CoP, she aimed to understand the commitment mainly of the Afghan refugees.

Surrounded by the inequalities of Brazil, Ana started asking herself how much of the international agenda could adress the local problems she had noticed. Thinking about that, Ana decided to start her research on projects in which she would study if such agenda was useful for the brazilian reality. In 2018, Ana went to Kenya, and gave classes with another people in order to connect with the refugees. After working with education and understanding the reality of that place, she then wanted to use her knowledge in her field to think about this type of enviroment. During the CoP, Ana focused on discussing new reflections on refugees’ integration and commitment, as well as on refugees from another multiple contexts.
